Research ProjectInvestigation of redox active GUVs
The aim of this project is to investigate the use of unilamellar vesicles for drug delivery and other uses. The research focus mainly on Giant and Large unilamellar vesicles (GUVs and LUVs). We synthesized a novel type of redox active phospholipid that was used for the assembly new family of redox active vesicles the transport and payload release mechanism of vesicles is examined. Currently we are working on the development of a new family of PEGylated redox active phospholipids to enhance the drug delivery abilities of our system. We use advanced electrochemical and spectroscopic methods as well as in-vivo and in-vitro immunoarray methods to characterize our system and obtain a proof of concept. Develop new electrochemical flow system Flow systems offers many advantages in electroanalysis. The use of flow systems allow the automation continual and batch measurements, and provides advantages over a static liquid process, including stages of liquid replacements and automated mixing which increases the precision and accuracy of the measurements since it allows better control and optimization of the process. Another advantage of flow systems is the control of mass transport for analytical studies and for applications. A high rate of mass transport can be used to study reaction kinetics for homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions. We develop different types of flow through electrochemical system that enables the simultaneous use of electrochemical and spectroscopic measurements. |
