Research project7075 aluminium alloy is an aluminium alloy which has zinc as the primary alloying element. It is strong, with a strength comparable to many steels, and has good fatigue strength and average machinability, but it has lower resistance to corrosion than many other aluminium alloys. In collaboration with NRC and CQRDA, this project looks into the assessment of Al alloy 7075’s localized corrosion behavior, using both experimental and simulation methods.
