Investigating electronic/ionic transport properties of conducting polymer with SECM

Conducting polymers used in different organic devices (supercapacitors, batteries, organic electrochemical transistors, etc.) experience mixed electronic/ionic transport processes which cause the reversible doping/dedoping of conjugated polymer by reversible electrochemical redox processes. Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), utilizing the precisely positioned microelectrode, could locally evaluate the electrochemical process at the interface of conducting polymer and electrolyte. My project is to locally explore the electronic and ionic transport in conducting polymers by SECM and to improve the understanding of OECT’s working principle.
